What is Adaptive Resilience?

The Adaptive Resilience approach introduces a number of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, and aids that can help to achieve a state of coherence and enhanced Heart Rate Variability.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is a highly correlative predictor of ill health. As Heart Rate Variability increases, the risk of developing a severe illness or suffering an accident statistically decreases. Measuring HRV is not only helpful to measure risk, but also to monitor health improvement as a result of life style changes and to evaluate sleep quality, the ability to cope with stress, the capacity to recover from strain, and the sleep quality (see also Chronomedical Health Assessment).

There is a constantly increasing interest in the research of Heart Rate Variability and the risk to develop serious disease.

Heart Rate Variability and system coherence can be permanently improved through a number of factors, including Heart Rate Variability Training that focuses on simultaneous managing of emotional response and controlled breathing.

As we manage our emotions and control our breathing, Heart Rate Variability increases and system coherence, the harmonious cooperation of different organ systems such as brain and heart, takes place.

Techniques such as the Heart Breathing Technique and the Problem Solving exercise can help to reduce the impact of stress and improve the state of physical health, emotional well-being and enhance performance by reducing the inhibiting impact of anxiety and improving the cooperation between nervous system and heart.

The techniques are easy to learn and to practise within a busy and demanding lifestyle, and an improvement of general well-being is usually experienced after a few days of practising.

Other techniques, such as inner dialogue, review, mental rehearsing and intuitive conversation are advanced techniques that can address deeper issues and enhance the capacity to deal with extreme strain, challenging life situations and life crises.
The techniques not only improve physical and emotional health, but also deepen psychological skills that allow us to deal more effectively with challenging and/or demanding life situations. The Scientific basis of these techniques lies in the field of positive psychology, neurocardiology and chronomedicine.

Adaptive Resilience also offers stress management courses for professionals and corporate clients.
